    THE SPRING BEAUTY SCENE

Spring has officially sprung and the weather in London has been bloody amazing over the past few weeks. One of the fun things when it comes to a new season is the mandatory spring makeup rotation. Though I’m not really one for blusher and the renowned pink/coral tones associated with the ideas of spring, I do like to ease up on the coverage front and go a little lighter in all aspects – switching powder products for cream and liquids and just overall, going with a lighter and more natural approach to makeup.

FOR BASE: I like nice light bases when it comes to my foundations for spring. I love the Nars Radiant Tinted Moisturiser on those days when I want a makeup, skincare hybrid. It’s has a nice amount of coverage, especially for an everyday base. For an actual foundation, the Mac Face & Body is favourite for a light coverage base, however despite being light coverage, it’s buildable so perfect to use on any areas of concern. Another foundation pick is the renowned Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk. I personally don’t find this to be a medium or high coverage foundation, and it’s not heavy or cakey on the skin at all. I love how dewy it is as it gives a nice healthy glow, without looking like you’ve caked on a lot of makeup. I’m not normally one for blusher, however, if there’s ever a time to whack it out it’s definitely during springtime. The Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow in the shade ‘euphoria’ is a beautiful muted pink, which would work well on a variety of skin tones. Being a cream blusher, it maintains a natural, dewy element to the skin and it just adds a subtle pop of colour to the cheeks. There are so many highlighters that I could pick out for spring, however a standout pick is my Niod Photography Fluid, which is a natural liquid highlighter. There are so many ways you can use this highlighter and it’s perfect for a natural glow-from-within look!

FOR EYES: When it comes to makeup, I’m really neutral, so regardless of the weather and season, I pretty much stick to neutral shades, particularly when it comes to my eyes. The L’Oreal False Lash Fibre Mascara is an amazing mascara if you’re someone like me who has short lashes. There are little fibres within the formula, which help your lashes look longer and fuller. There’s nothing better than going for a really natural makeup look and having long luscious lashes! For eyeshadow, the L’Oreal La Palette Nude in the shade ‘rose’ is a nice neutral palette with pink undertones, which is great if you like neutral eyeshadow with a twist, to make it appropriate for spring.

FOR LIPS: I found it so difficult to narrow down lip products, as there are so many, so here are some of my new favourites. Now, I’m not normally one for a lip gloss, but recently, I’ve been obsessed with the *Pixi Lip Lift in the shade ‘sheer rose’ as it adds a hint of pigment to the lips without it being overpowering for a subtle look. No matter what season it is, you always need a lip balm and my go-to is the Nuxe Reve De Miel. It’s like a hybrid of a lip balm and treatment, but it’s very wearable for both day and night. Onto lipsticks, my spring picks are Taupe and Plumful from MAC. Taupe is a stunning nude shade and plumful is a sheer pinky plum shade!
